RESUMO A mastite é considerada uma doença que causa grandes prejuízos econômicos, reduzindo em quantidade e qualidade o leite e os derivados lácteos. As opções de tratamento de vacas com mastite clínica são o uso de antimicrobianos em todas as vacas, o tratamento de nenhuma delas com antimicrobianos, apenas casos específicos com antimicrobianos ou tratamentos com medicamentos homeopáticos. Animais que respondem aos tratamentos sem uso de medicamentos, têm uma predisposição a recuperar-se do quadro clínico de mastite, mesmo na presença de agente infeccioso. Neste trabalho foi feita uma inoculação intramamária experimental com Staphylococcus aureus, e a partir do surgimento dos sinais clínicos instituiu-se o tratamento apenas com ordenhas múltiplas. Os animais foram avaliados através de escores clínicos, contagem de células somáticas (CCS), California Mastitis Test (CMT) e exames microbiológicos. Como alguns animais não responderam a esse tratamento, foram utilizados medicamentos homeopáticos ou antibiótico para os tratamentos e posteriormente comparados com o tratamento feito apenas com ordenhas múltiplas. Para os animais que puderam ser tratados com ordenhas múltiplas, os escores clínicos e de CMT foram estatisticamente menores (p < 0,05) quando comparados com aqueles tratados com antibiótico e medicamentos homeopáticos e estes dois não apresentaram diferença na eficiência, apresentando cura clínica no 9º dia pós-inoculação.

ABSTRACT Mastitis is considered an illness that causes great losses in milk production, reducing the quantity and quality of milk and dairy products. The options for treatments in cows with clinical mastitis are the usage of antimicrobials in all the animals, the treatment of none of them with antimicrobials, just some of them, or with homeopathic medicines. Animals that respond to no medical treatments have a predisposition to recover from clinical mastitis, even in the presence of the infectious agent. This began with an experimental intramammary inoculation with Staphylococcus aureus and after the beginning of the clinical signs there was established a treatment only by milking-out the cows. The animals where evaluated by clinical scores, somatic cell counts (SCC), California Mastitis Test (CMT) and microbiological parameters. As some animals did not respond to this treatment, they where treated with homeopathic medicines or antibiotics, afterward the results were compared with the milking-out treatment. For the animals that were possible to be treated by milking-out, the clinic and CMT scores were statistically smaller (p < 0.05) when compared with those treated with antibiotices and homeopathic medicines and for these two treatments there was no difference in the efficiency, exhibiting clinical cure at the 9th daypost-inoculation.

Com o objetivo de avaliar a resposta de genótipos de soja aos herbicidas trifluralin e imazaquin, dois experimentos foram instalados em campo, na Embrapa Soja, Londrina-PR, no ano agrícola 2000/2001. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas, foram semeados 17 genótipos de soja (BR 16, BRS 183, BRS 184, BRS 155, BRS 156, BRS 132, BRS 133, BRS 136, BRS 134, BRS 135, Embrapa 58, Embrapa 59, Embrapa 48, BRS 212, BR96-25619, BR96-12086 e BR95-8400). No experimento 1 foram aplicadas, nas subparcelas, as doses de 0 (testemunha sem aplicação), 1,8 kg i.a. ha-1 (dose recomendada) e 3,6 kg i.a. ha-1 (duas vezes a dose recomendada) do herbicida trifluralin. No experimento 2 foram aplicadas, nas subparcelas, as doses de 0 (testemunha sem aplicação), 0,14 kg i.a. ha-1 (dose recomendada) e 0,28 kg i.a. ha-1 (duas vezes a dose recomendada) do herbicida imazaquin. Todos os genótipos de soja foram tolerantes às doses recomendadas dos dois herbicidas, apresentando sintomas leves de fitotoxicidade, sem comprometer a produtividade. Entretanto, os cultivares BRS 183, BRS 156, Embrapa 59 e Embrapa 58 foram afetados pelo dobro da dose do herbicida trifluralin, reduzindo a produtividade. Com relação ao imazaquin, somente a linhagem BR96-25619 foi afetada pelo dobro da dose desse herbicida, reduzindo a produtividade.

Two experiments were carried out under field conditions at Embrapa Soja, Londrina, Paraná to evaluate the response of soybean genotypes to trifluralin and imazaquin, during the agricultural season of 2000/2001. The treatments were arranged in a split-plot design in a randomized complete block experiment with four replicates. Genotypes (BR 16, BRS 183, BRS 184, BRS 155, BRS 156, BRS 132, BRS 133, BRS 136, BRS 134, BRS 135, Embrapa 58, Embrapa 59, Embrapa 48, BRS 212, BR96-25619, BR96-12086 and BR95-8400) were sowed in the whole plots. In the subplots, trifluralin rates of 0.0 (check), 1.8 kg a.i. ha-1 (recommended rate) and 3.6 kg a.i. ha-1 (double rate - experiment 1) and imazaquin rates of 0.0 (check), 0.14 kg a.i. ha¹ (recommended rate) and 0.28 kg a.i. ha-1 (double rate - experiment 2) were applied. All genotypes were tolerant to the recommended rates of both herbicides, with light symptoms of phytotoxicity without yield losses. However, cultivars BRS 183, BRS 156, Embrapa 59 and Embrapa 58 showed lower yields when submitted to double the recommended rate of trifluralin. Only BR9625619 showed significant yield reduction due to the double rate of imazaquin.
